Yang-Hua Hu​

Yang-Hua Hu was raised in Taiwan and came to the US to pursue a film career. While working on his MFA at USC, he found editing to be one of his favorite roles in the filmmaking process. Initially keen to direct, he ended up as an editor on his thesis project, and it soon developed into a passion. After finishing school, he finally went to the dark side: working in a cutting room. He continues to learn different storytelling styles and editing techniques from the editors and directors with whom he has built enduring relationships while striving to become a better storyteller. He believes a meaningful story can break both language and cultural barriers, and he aims to bridge the divide between western and eastern viewers. He believes a compelling film will touch the audience’s heart and can inspire the world to be a better place.
